At the workshop, we took a deep dive into the world of soap making, taking the time to create stackable wooden cook boxes to aid in the saponification process when crafting our own handmade soaps. We found that, by using a latex mold to keep our soaps in and then nestling that mold inside our curing boxes, we could maintain the temperature of the soaps and help speed up the saponification process. This was much more effective than simply allowing the soaps to sit in the ambient air, as the warmth from the curing boxes facilitated the saponification process and enabled us to craft quality soaps in a shorter amount of time.

The process of curing allows the saponification process to complete fully, which is a fancy way of saying we want all of the water content in the soap to be evaporated. This way, the soap is harder, dry, and the lye content is non-existent. It usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks for this process to complete, but you can rest assured that, if you use our soap cook boxes, it will be quicker than other methods. Plus, you can customize your boxes to include your branding or shop logo for some added flair.

If you do not allow soap to properly cure, it will not last nearly as long and the lather that is created will be impaired. In addition, if there is still lye active in your soap, there could be adverse effects to the skin.

We think these are a great addition to a small soap making shop and we can offer bulk pricing, should you want to order more than 4 boxes at a time. Ask us what kind of deal you can get! These boxes are compatible with standard silicone rectangular flexible molds.
